James Palmer confirmed his departure from his position via social media early on Thursday morning. The NFL is reportedly engaging in discussions with ESPN regarding the potential sale of the network and other assets. The Daily Mail Online offers comprehensive coverage of international sports news. According to reports, NFL Network has made significant cuts to its on-air personalities as part of ongoing staff reduction efforts.

As the network continues to streamline its roster of hosts, Melissa Stark, Andrew Siciliano, James Palmer, and Will Selva have all been let go. Alex Riethmiller, a spokesperson for NFL Network, explained to The Athletic that evaluating the talent roster is standard procedure at this time of year in preparation for the upcoming 2024 season and beyond. Riethmiller mentioned that decisions regarding talent renewals, non-renewals, and additions are made based on programming needs. Departing talent are thanked for their contributions and hard work.

James Palmer confirmed his departure on social media, expressing gratitude for his time with NFL Network and looking forward to future opportunities. Palmer had been with the network for nearly a decade, starting as a national reporter in 2015.

Andrew Siciliano, a prominent host on the network known for his work on DirecTV’s ‘RedZone’ and NFL Total Access, was also among those let go. Melissa Stark, known for her coverage of major NFL events such as the draft and Super Bowl, will continue as a sideline reporter for NBC’s ‘Sunday Night Football’. Will Selva, who provided updates on ‘Good Morning Football’, will be affected by the network’s decision to relocate the show from New York to Los Angeles.

While Jamie Erdhal has announced her move with the program, it remains uncertain whether Peter Schrager, Kyle Brandt, and Jason McCourty will also relocate. The departure of Stark, Siciliano, Palmer, and Selva is part of broader cost-cutting measures within the network.

Reports suggest that the NFL is exploring the possibility of selling NFL Network and other media assets to ESPN through an equity swap.
